For my digital image class final, I was tasked to create a collaged series of some kind on a topic of our choosing. I chose to do a series based on my own insecurities. My insecurities include: my face, my body, my mental health, and my blackness. I chose to collage imagery of my insecurities with abstract shapes in a variety of colors, my own handwriting of words that I associate with each insecurity, and line drawings of flowers. This project tasked me to look within and it wasn't until this project that I actually faced my insecurities head on and photographed them. It was almost healing to do.
